Islamic Character Education discusses aboutBasic Framework of Islamic TeachingsIslam is essentially the rules or laws of Allah SWT contained in the book of Allah and the Sunnah of His Messenger which includes commands and prohibitions, as well as instructions to guide the life and life of mankind for their happiness in this world and the hereafter. Broadly speaking, the scope of Islamic teachings includes three main points, namely:1. A K I D A HThe Islamic belief system or aqidah is built on six foundations of faith which are commonly called the Pillars of Faith. The Pillars of Faith include faith in Allah, angels, books, messengers, final judgment and qodha and qadar. as Allah says in surah An-Nisa verse 136."O you who believe, keep believing in Allah and His Messenger and in the book that was revealed to His Messenger and the book that was revealed before him. Whoever disbelieves in Allah, His angels, His books, His messengers His messenger, and the day after, then indeed that person has gone astray as far as possible."Based on these six foundations, the attachment of every Muslim to Islam that should exist in the Muslim soul is:a. Believing that Islam is the last religion, containing the Sharia which perfects the Sharia that was revealed by Allah before. As Allah says: "Muhammad is not a father (of) one of the men among you, except that he is the Messenger of Allah and the Seal of the Prophets"b. Believing that Islam is the only true religion in the sight of Allah because Islam is a religion embraced by the Prophets from Prophet Adam as to Prophet Muhammad SWT. Islam came with absolute truth to be a guideline for human life and life in harmony with their nature. Allah says in surah Ali-Imran verse 19:"Surely the religion in the sight of Allah is Islam"c. Believing that Islam is a religion that is universal and applies to all human beings, and is able to answer all problems that arise in all levels of society and in accordance with the demands of human culture throughout the ages. As Allah says in surah As-Saba, verse 28: "And we did not send you (Muhammad) but for all mankind as good news and a warning. But most people do not know."2. S Y A R I A HThe second component of Islam is Sharia which contains rules and regulations governing activities that should and should not be done by humans. Sharia is an Islamic value system determined by Allah himself. In this connection, Allah is referred to as Syaari or the creator of law.The Islamic value system in general covers two areas:a. Sharia that regulates human relations vertically with Allah, such as prayer, fasting, and pilgrimage, and which also has a dimension of relationship with humans, such as zakat. Human relations in the form of ordinary worship with Allah are called mahdhah worship or special worship, because of their unique nature and procedures that have been determined with certainty by Allah and exemplified in detail by the Prophet.b. Sharia which regulates human relations horizontally, with fellow humans and other creatures is called muamalah. Muamalah includes the provisions or regulations of all human life activities in association with each other and with the natural surroundings.
